AS A FRESHMAN IN 2010-11: Took bronze in men's sabre at the Collegiate Open ... Competed in the North American Cup, where he finished 42nd in men's sabre ... Went undefeated at the UC Irvine Duals (10-0) ... Took 2nd place in men's sabre at the NCAA West Regionals.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2010 graduate of Agoura High School in Agoura Hills, Calif... Finished second in Division II Nationals in 2009 for club fencing.

PERSONAL: Born July 28, 1992... Parents are Lawrence and Tasha Bartuzik... Has two older siblings, Rex and Louis... Fan of retired Romanian sabre fencer Mihai Covaliu... Enjoys the movie Donnie Darko... Is a Psychology major in Roosevelt College... Likes playing music and writing short stories.
