LA MIRADA, Calif. - The UC San Diego swimming and diving team had five wins on the second day of competition at the Pacific Coast Swim and Dive Conference Championships at the Splash! La Mirada Aquatic Center. The women, ranked No. 1 nationally, and the No. 3 men both strengthened their leads over the competition as they're each looking for their fourth straight league titles.

The UCSD women took victories in three events and now lead the field with 693.5 points. Cal Baptist is second with 547.5 points and Fresno Pacific sits in third with 323 points.

The Triton men won a pair of events and continue to own the top spot in the standings with 616 points. Cal Baptist is second with 502 points and Fresno Pacific is third with 397.

Anji Shakya set a new school record in the women's 500 freestyle, recording a winning time of 4:55.10.

Alex Henley paced the women to a podium sweep in the 200 IM. She won in 2:02.20 and was followed by Emily Adamczyk in 2:05.64 and Eva Chen with a time of 2:06.22.

Henley, Jaclyn Amog, Sierra Robbins and Shakya combined to win the 200 free relay in 1:34.50.

The women contested two other events Thursday. Olivia Fountain was UCSD's top finisher in the 50 free (23.50) in third place, while Natalie Mouzooni was seventh in the one-meter dive with 195.80 points.

"We've had a great start to the meet," said UCSD co-head coach Corrie Falcon. "However, we have a lot of important swims ahead and we are focused on qualifying as many athletes as possible for NCAA's."

Nick Korth won the 200 IM on the men's side, posting a 1:49.97. Just like the women, the Tritons went 1-2-3 as Adam Rice was second in 1:51.11 and Griffin Bracke took third in 1:51.62.

The Triton men also earned a win in the 200 free relay. Reid McCallum, Korth, Sam Stromberg and Blake Langland swam a winning time of 1:22.04.

Matt Herman placed second in the 500 freestyle (4:36.15) and Langland and McCallum went 2-3 in the 50 free. Langland logged a 20.74, just ahead of McCallum, who finished in 20.76.

"It was another great day today," said UCSD co-head coach Matt Macedo. "We went 1-2-3 in the IM and had our fastest 200 free relay time this season. I'm looking forward to another productive day tomorrow."

Friday's events include the 400 IM, 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke, 400 medley relay and men's three-meter diving.
