AS A JUNIOR IN 2009: Took part in all six events on the year, finishing among UCSD’s top five in four of them… Finished 35th overall at the Southern Indiana Pre-National Invitational with a time of 24:32.56… Was UCSD’s third-highest finisher with a 22nd place time of 23:33.5 at the Triton Classic… Took 66th place at the NCAA West Regional after completing the course in 23:36.5… Won the team’s annual Academic Standard award at season’s end.

Competed in all seven events during her second season as a Triton, scoring in three of them… Finished 12th overall at the CSUSB Coyotes Invite, clocking in with a time of 24:03 to help UCSD claim first place as a team… Was the fifth Triton to finish at the CCAA Championships, placing 23rd overall with a time of 23:39.8… Took 59th place at the NCAA West Regional to wrap up the season… Posted a final time of 24:33.2 to help the Tritons to a sixth place finish.

One of UCSD’s most consistent runners all season competing in all eight events as a rookie… Was the Triton’s sixth or seventh best finisher seven times during the year… Kicked off her collegiate career with an impressive 11th place finish in the dual meet with Point Loma to open the season, clocking in at 16:33.6… Finished 56th overall in the UC Irvine Invitational with a time of 19:54.90… Crossed the finish line sixth for UCSD and 82nd overall a week later at the Southern Stampede… Took 38th in the Triton Classic with a mark of 24:22.7… Finished seventh on the squad and 25th overall, notching a time of 22:33.20 at the CCAAs… Completed the NCAA Championships with a mark of 23:48.4, good enough for 144th overall.

A 2007 graduate of Westlake High School in Westlake Village, Calif… Ran cross country and track in high school… Team finished eighth in state in 2004, fifth in 2005… Named all-county and all-league in 2005 and 2006… Statistical bests of 5:42 in the mile, 19:12 on the 3 mile course, 19:50 in the 5k, 11:53 in the 3200, and 5:42 in the 1600… Member of NHS, CIF, Habitat for Humanity, and was valedictorian of high school class.

PERSONAL: Born November 15, 1988… Parents are David and Brenda Alban… Both parents attended Cal State Northridge and work as teachers… Has a brother named Bradley and a sister named Kelsey… Hobbies include going to the beach, reading, cooking, and baking… Roots for the Dodgers and Padres… Deena Kastor, Shalane Flanagan, Sara Hall, and Kara Groucher are some of her personal heros… Forest Gump, The Hangover, and March of the Penguins are her favorite movies… Is a Physiology and Neuroscience major in Warren College… Wants to pursue a career in physical therapy.
