AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2010: Had a tremendous second season for the Tritons, scoring in seven of the team's eight events on the year… Placed eighth overall in UCSD's season opener after clocking in at 16:34.4... Was the team's third finisher at the Bronco Preview Meet with a time of 23:14.1… That was good enough for 10th place overall on the day… Was the first Triton to cross the finish line at the CCAA Championships in Whittier, completing the course with a 25th-place time of 23:14.0… Was a scorer at the NCAA West Regional Championships as well, clocking in at 25:06.2 for 74th place… Named the team's Most Valuable Racer at the end of the season.  

Made three appearances in her first season as a Triton… Had a tremendous debut, finishing ninth overall and fourth on the squad in UCSD”s opener… Clocked in at 16:25.6 in that race… Placed 75th at the CCAA Championships in McKinleyville… Posted a final time of 26:25.7.

A 2009 grad of Haddonfield Memorial High School, where she led the squad to four consecutive state championships… Holds personal bests of 18:44 in the 5k, 2:24 in the 800m, 5:11 in the 1600m, and 11:35 in the 3200m… Also competed in basketball and tennis at the club level in high school.

PERSONAL: Born July 12, 1990 in Washington, D.C.… Parents are Jeff and Teresa Sikkema… Has two sisters, Kaitlyn and Elizabeth, and a brother, Jake… Her hobbies include surfing, rock climbing, hiking and wakeboarding… Loves to listen to Sublime… Would go with BBQ pulled pork and cornbread if she had to choose one meal for the rest of her life… Bethany Hamilton is one of her personal heros… Winning a fourth consecutive state title in high school is her most memorable career moment so far…  Is an Environmental Systems major in Marshall College… Aspires to become a conservational ecologist in South America.
