WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - UC San Diego's Ryan Lok was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association Male Cross Country Runner of the Week for the week ending September 19, it was announced Monday.
Lok had a strong showing at the 66th Annual Aztec Invitational on Saturday, leading the Triton men to a victory in the five-team open event. The freshman from Oakland, Calif. finished second overall with a time of 28:05.08 on the 8k course.
Lok finished just behind Point Loma Nazarene's Kyle Russell, who won the event at 27:59.9.
This marks UCSD's second athlete of the week honor of the season. Jesse Morrill won the award on September 6 after finishing first overall in the Tritons' season opener.
Lok and the Tritons will now travel to Falcon Heights, Minn. to take part in the 25th Annual Roy Griak Invitational on Saturday.
