LA JOLLA, Calif. - Danielle Dahle had a match-high 16 kills and added 15 digs to lead the UC San Diego women's volleyball team to a straight set win over league opponent Cal State Monterey Bay Friday night at RIMAC Arena. Scores were 25-22, 25-13 and 25-12.

UCSD, which snapped a two-match losing slide, improved to 12-6 overall and 7-3 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). CSUMB fell to 10-8 on the year and 4-6 in conference play.

Dahle hit .448 with three errors in 29 attacks and added a pair of service aces to finish with 18 points, a match-high. The freshman outside hitter now has eight double-doubles this season.

Sophie Rowe totaled 13 kills, Sara McCutchan had eight kills and four blocks and Brittany Lombardi led the Tritons with 16 digs. Setter Amber Hawthorne tallied 36 assists and helped UCSD finish with a .315 (52-13-154) attack percentage.

UCSD jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first set, a run that included back-to-back kills by Rowe. However, Monterey Bay climbed back in it and took a 16-15 lead after an attack error by the Tritons. With the score tied 21-21, Rowe struck again with two straight kills to put UCSD up for good.

The second set saw the Otters leading early. However, at 6-6, the Tritons spun off six consecutive points and never looked back. UC San Diego hit .486 (21-3-37) in the frame, its most potent attack of the night.

The Tritons never trailed in set number three. A three-point run at 4-4 put UCSD up 7-4 and the Otters could not come back. CSUMB hit -.056 (5-7-36) in the set.
