FOR THE THIRD TIME
This is the third straight year that UCSD has hosted the Thanksgiving Classic. Cal State San Bernardino has competed in the tourney all three years. Last season, Cal State San Marcos and Fort Lewis took part, while Notre Dame de Namur and Western New Mexico traveled to La Jolla in 2010.

GET YER TICKETS HERE
Tickets for the UCSD Thanksgiving Classic are available at RIMAC Arena beginning at 4 p.m. each day. General admission is $10 for adults and $5 for seniors, visiting students and children. UCSD students are admitted free. A daily ticket is good for both games on that day.

‘TIS THE TOURNEY SEASON
This week's Thanksgiving Classic is the third and final regular season tournament that UCSD will compete in this year. The Tritons opened their campaign in Anaheim at Disney's Tip-Off West Coast Classic Nov. 9-11 and then played in Western Washington's West Region Crossover in Bellingham, Wash., Nov. 16-17.

ON YOUR MARKS
Daisy Feder has kept herself busy so far this season by setting new career marks. Just six days after she established a new career-best with 28 points against Grand Canyon, Feder upped that by one, pouring in 29 in a win over Seattle Pacific. Her nine field goals made and seven three-pointers drained in that game were also career-highs. The senior entered the season with 966 career points and eclipsed 1,000 on Nov. 10 vs. Grand Canyon in Anaheim.

THE COUGARS
Azusa Pacific has yet to post a win and enters this week's tourney with an 0-3 record. The Cougars have suffered losses against Cal State L.A. (65-79), Western Washington (49-73) and Seattle Pacific (74-76 in OT). They joined UCSD at the West Region Crossover last week in Washington State. Hannah Kenny is averaging a team-best 14.3 points and 7.7 rebounds. APU finished at 26-8 last season.

THE COYOTES
Cal State San Bernardino opened its season Monday with a convincing 66-46 victory over La Sierra at Coussoulis Arena in San Bernardino. Senior Qorreah Joice led the Coyotes with a game-high 11 points. Briana Baker totaled six assists and three steals as CSUSB held a double-digit lead over the final 30 minutes of the game. The Coyotes finished their 2011-12 season at 9-17 overall and 8-14 in the CCAA, good for ninth place. They were picked to finish eighth in this year's preseason coaches poll.

THE SPARTANS
Tampa is off to a hot start and brings a perfect 4-0 record to La Jolla this week. The Spartans have posted wins over Ave Maria (70-55), Virginia Intermont (73-49), Lindenwood (76-43) and Puerto Rico-Bayamon (54-48). Juliana Cavallaro leads the team in scoring at 15.5 points per game while Moriah Hodge is averaging a team-high 6.0 rebounds per game. UT posted an 11-16 overall record in 2011-12 and placed eighth of nine teams in the Sunshine State Conference with a 4-12 mark.

A SEASON TO REMEMBER
UCSD broke a school record for victories last season, finishing at 30-3 overall. The Tritons won the CCAA regular season crown with a 21-1 mark and advanced to the finals of the NCAA West Regional. Ranked No. 1 in the nation for seven straight weeks, UCSD defeated Chico State and Western Washington in Regional play before falling to Alaska-Anchorage in the title game. Senior guard Chelsea Carlisle was named a WBCA All-American while four Tritons were named First Team All-CCAA. Head coach Charity Elliott was tabbed the West Region Coach of the Year.
