LA JOLLA, Calif. - The UC San Diego women's basketball team needed extra minutes on Saturday at RIMAC Arena against Cal Poly Pomona, and at the end of overtime defeated the Broncos, 66-64, to earn its seventh straight victory.

The Tritons, who have the longest win streak in the conference, improves to 15-8 overall and 13-3 against California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) competition. UCSD begins its final road trip of the regular season on Friday with a game at 12th-place Cal State Stanislaus (2-19, 1-15 CCAA) set to commence at 5:30 p.m.

Senior guard Emily Osga led the way for the Tritons with her 16 points to go along with two rebounds, a game-high five assists and a game-high two steals, while senior guard Daisy Feder contributed 14 points, six rebounds, three assists and a block.

Junior forward Erin Dautremont earned her fourth double-double of the season with her 11 points and 10 rebounds. The West Hills native also had one assist, one block and a steal.

Scoring a game-high 21 points for the Broncos was senior forward Ashley Boggs, who also had seven rebounds and three assists. Senior guard Jennifer Bryant put up 16 points, one rebound and an assist. However, freshman guard Cydnie Jones earned a double-double with her 11 points and game-high 11 rebounds in addition to four assists, a game-high two blocks and a steal.

Though UCSD shot a subpar 20-for-53 (37.7%) from the field for the game, hitting eight fewer shots than the Broncos, the Tritons more than made up for their shooting woes in the paint at the foul line. The Tritons made 20 free throws over the 45 minutes, 17 more free throws than the Broncos.

No lead was safe in the overtime frame, which saw eight lead changes and one tie in a span of just over three minutes. With only 14 seconds to go and down by a point, 64-63, Dautremont released a layup off the backboard and into the basket, giving the Tritons a slim 65-64 lead.

Dautremont was also fouled on the next possession and nailed the first of her two attempts. As the clock ticked down the final seconds, Boggs attempted a layup which could have sent the game into a second overtime. Dautremont, however, stood in the line of fire to block the shot and subsequently rebounded the ball as the final buzzer sounded.

The highlight of the first half for the Tritons was a 10-0 run that put UCSD up by a score of 10-4. The run was capped by Osga on a three-pointer with 16:07 left in the first half.

CPP answered UCSD with a 9-0 run of its own, a run that was ceased after sophomore guard Lisha Elsenbach's layup made the score, 18-12, with 9:43 left in the opening 20 minutes. The Broncos went up by as many as seven, 21-14, when Bryant drained a trey with 6:51 remaining.

In spite of another 6-0 run by the Tritons late in the first half, UCSD trailed by three at the half, 29-26.

The Tritons reacquired the lead when Dautremont drilled a jumper at the 11:40 mark of the second half to give the Tritons a 40-38 advantage. UCSD led by as many as four on five different occasions in the second half. The last of those occurred when Osga made a layup with 4:00 to spare in regulation while bringing the Tritons to a 53-49 lead.

But after sophomore guard Miranda Seto sank both of her free throws at the 2:35 reading to put UCSD ahead, 55-53, Jones stole the ball at center court en route to a breakaway layup with 1:00 remaining to send the game into overtime tied, 55-55.

The Broncos, who have lost three straight, drop to 11-9 overall and 9-7 in CCAA play. They are tied for fifth in the conference and will try to break their tie with Cal State East Bay (11-9, 9-7 CCAA) at Kellogg Gym on Thursday in a contest set to tip off at 5:30 p.m.
