LMU brings a 9-5 overall record into this week's match up. The Lions are also coming away from the UCI Invitational where they finished with a 3-1 record posting big wins against No. 9 San Jose State, No. 14 C Davis and No. 15 CSU Northridge. Their single loss of the weekend was a 5-9 decision to No. 4 Cal. The two teams met earlier in February in the first round of the Triton Invitational. UCSD came up with the thrilling 8-7 victory over the Lions as Julia Kirkland scored a team high three goals. The teams met two times in 2012, once during the regular season in Los Angeles, the other in the Western Water Polo Association Championship match. LMU took both contests, just edging the Tritons out 6-7 for the conference title.

Currently 9-6 overall after going 2-2 at their home Invitational, the Anteaters and Tritons have had a few close encounters this season, playing in all three of the same tournaments (UC Santa Barbara, UC San Diego, and UC Irvine). Jullian Yocum has played the majority of the time in cage for UCI, starting all 10 of her appearances tallying 99 saves with a 6-4 record. Mckenna Mitchell leads the offensive front with 21 goals and a 79% shooting percentage, while Kelsey Thomton has a team high 12 assists under her belt. The Anteaters will play across town at San Diego State on Saturday before coming to UCSD.

Freshman goalie Courtney Miller broke into the 100's this past weekend knocking down 39 saves at the UC Irvine Invitational to bring her season total up to 110, giving her the second highest total across the WWPA. Miller posted a single-game high of the weekend with 11 saves against UC Davis. With two-thirds of the season remaining, Miller could possibly break into the programs Single-Season top 10.

Jolene Guiliana leads the team in both assists and steals, at 20 and 23 respectively. These marks also rank her in the top five among the leading WWPA performers.

All eight of the Western Water Polo Association teams will be in action in week seven of the season with four conference match-ups highlighting the action. The week will start with Cal State San Bernardino visiting Santa Clara at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Colorado State will then take on Sonoma State at the UC Davis Aggie Shootout on Saturday at 10:30 am, and then the Rams will face Colorado State in the tournament on Sunday at 9 a.m. Despite the 1-3 record over the weekend, the Tritons are still posting high marks within the conference:
- Five Tritons earned ranks in the top 30 for goals, with Lizotte and Kirkland in the top 10.
- Four members are listed in the top 24 for Steals- Miller, Brooks, Lizotte, and Guiliana.
- Three athletes have been listed in the top 23 for Assists as Guiliana currently sits at at no. 2 with 20 respectively.

Sarah Lizotte was named KAP7 WWPA Player of the Week on Wednesday, Jan. 30. The Riverside native is the first member of the Triton roster to receive the weekly honor this season, as the team was just one week into the 2013 campaign. Lizotte compiled 13 goals, five assists and five steals over the course of the weekend at the UC Santa Barbara Winter Invitational. Her single-game high came in 11-6 win over conference opponent Sonoma State, where Lizotte posted six goals respectively. Lizotte also received Player of the Week honors for the week on Jan. 28.
