Pointing to the Past
Among the returners for the women, sophomore Sabrina Pimentel ran a personal-best time of 2:13.25 in the women’s 800 to finish first and earn an NCAA provisional qualifying mark. Pimentel’s time put her at No. 3 on UCSD’s all-time top 10 list for that event. Sophomore Chantia Justice won the triple jump with a leap of 36’7.75”. Even with a limited number of student-athletes competing due to finals, the UCSD women earned 120 points in all to finish sixth out of 10 teams, which was 88.5 points behind first-place Middlebury College (208.5). For the men, seniors Ryan Eckert (50’5.5”), Matt Endler (45’2.25”) and Zach Nagengast (43’10.75”) swept the podium in the shot put. Nagengast also took first in the hammer throw with a top mark of 164’. UCSD's men took second overall with 206 total points, just 15 behind Oneonta State’s 221.

Anderson’s Aztec Acceleration
Junior Lorato Anderson earned an NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the 800 at the 35th Annual Aztec Invitational on March 16, crossing the finish line with a time of 2:14.28 to take 14th place overall.

Jumping Justice
Justice had the UCSD women's highest individual finish at the Aztec Invitational, where she leaped 38’11.75” in the triple jump for a second-place showing.

Ellexi Elevates
With times of 25.78 in the 200 and 59.42 in the 400 at the Aztec Invitational, sophomore Ellexi Snover recorded UCSD’s second-best time this season in both those events. Snover’s times, in those respective events, are a collegiate and personal best.

Benham Keeps Raising the Bar
Though she earned an NCAA provisional qualifying mark at the 17th Annual Rossi Relays on Feb. 23 after clearing a height of 11’7.75”, freshman Megan Benham improved it at the Aztec Invitational upon successfully gliding over a collegiate-best height of 11’8” to enter into a tie for 17th place overall at the meet.

Marie Moves Up
Freshman Marie Diaz turned in the fastest 1500 this season at the Aztec Invitational with a time of 4:41.92 to finish 11th in her heat and 15th overall in the event.

Carnival Competitors
Junior Chia Chang (17:56.59, 19th) led a quintet of Triton women while recording a personal best in the 5000 at the Occidental Distance Carnival in Los Angeles on March 15. This marked the first time this season UCSD has competed in this event. For the men, sophomore Tanner Collins (14:37.98, 10th) was the first of nine Tritons to finish the 5000.

Game of Throws
Senior A.B. Shaheen (186'6") and Nagengast (185') placed second and third, respectively, in the men's hammer throw. Both Shaheen and Nagengast were part of a small group of Tritons who finished among the top 10 individually at the meet.

Howe’s Heave
Sophomore Nash Howe had a fourth-place finish in the javelin, where he threw 202'5". This marked the second straight meet in which Howe’s top throw surpassed the 200’ mark.

Rose at the Top
Finishing sixth overall in the 100 with a time of 11.07, sophomore Keith Rose continued to solidify his status as UCSD’s top competitor in the sprints at the Aztec Invitational.
