Men's Soccer to Host 4th Annual 7-on-7 Summer Kickoff

LA JOLLA, Calif. - The UCSD men's soccer team will hold its Fourth Annual 7v7 Summer Kickoff on June 2, 2012 at Triton Soccer Stadium.

There will be Men's, Women's and Coed brackets and each team is limited to a 12-player roster. Games will be played with seven players on the pitch, including a goalkeeper, on a field 70 x 50 yards. Each team is guaranteed at least three games.

"We hope to build on the success of the 2011 Tournament, where we had 30 teams and exciting competition," said UCSD head coach Jon Pascale. "The 2012 Tournament will feature first-place trophies and a thrilling soccer atmosphere in beautiful San Diego.”

The tournament, which has been played on Memorial Day Weekend for the past three years, has been moved back a week in order to allow participants to take a nice vacation and then get back to the soccer field the following weekend.

The entry fee is $350 per team. To reserve a spot in the tournament, send a $50 check, team name and contact information to:
