AS A REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE IN 2016
All-CCAA honorable mention ... CCAA Championship All-Tournament Team ... West Region nominee at catcher for ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove ... Appeared in 47 games, with 39 starts all coming at catcher ... Broke program's Division II-era single-season record (since 2001) for caught stealing by with 19 (previously 18), cutting down two base-runners at Cal State San Marcos (5/8) to set new standard ... Fourth on team with .277 batting average ... Was involved in four of UCSD's six walk-off triumphs, with two hits and two runs scored ... Scored run in UCSD's first walk-off win in nightcap of doubleheader vs. The Master's (2/6) on Opening Day, getting hit by a pitch to lead off 10th inning ahead of a sacrifice, and coming around from second on Jack Larsen's single ... Kept season alive by poking walk-off RBI single up the middle with two outs and a 1-2 count as Tritons completed three-run rally in bottom of ninth for 7-6 triumph vs. Chico State at CCAA Championship (5/12).

Added a second two-hit game to begin doubleheader at Sonoma State (3/28), going 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI ... Handled all 104 defensive chances cleanly ... Played for the storied Santa Barbara Foresters of the California Collegiate League (CCL) during the 2016 summer ... Foresters won CCL Central Division (7/24), followed by CCL crown with Coe starting title game (7/31) at catcher at the Major League Baseball Urban Youth Academy in Compton ... CCL All-Tournament Team (best defensive catcher) ... Appeared in second straight National Baseball Congress (NBC) World Series in Wichita, Kan., and in fact NBCWS final, this time on the winning side as Santa Barbara lifted a record-tying sixth trophy and first since fellow Triton Troy Cruz registered final out on mound in 2014 ... 'Sters went perfect 6-0 in Wichita, with Coe playing in all six and starting five, including the final, a 6-2 victory vs. Hays (Kan.) Larks which was aired live nationally on ESPNU (8/13) ... Contributed to NBCWS Best Defensive Team Award (.978 team fielding percentage) ... Charged with just two errors in 210 chances (.990) over 33 games ... Played for the Haysville (Kan.) Aviators during the 2015 summer ... Aided the Aviators to the Jayhawk League title, sweeping the best-of-three championship series, 4-2 and 10-4, with Coe starting both games at catcher ... Haysville qualified for 81st NBC World Series in Wichita, Kan., and went 5-2 to finish as runner-up ... Started all seven games over eight days behind the plate, hitting a team-best .438 (7-for-16) with four runs, two doubles, six RBI, a team-high six walks, one hit-by-pitch, just one strikeout, a pair of sacrifice hits, and zero errors in 20 defensive chances ... Earned spot on NBC World Series All-America Team, becoming first Triton to do so since Aaron Bauman in 2010, and Just Block It Catcher Award (best defensive catcher) ... Went a perfect 4-for-4 with a three-run double, two-run double, two runs and five RBI in all in 14-3 triumph over Valley Center (Kan.) Diamond Dawgs (8/6) in Super Six round ... Went 2-for-3 with a walk and scored twice, including what proved to be the game-winning run, in 4-1 decision vs. league rival Liberal (Kan.) Bee Jays (8/7) to put Aviators in semifinal ... Reached base safely in 10 consecutive at-bats (2 2B, 3 1B, 3 BB, HBP, E) over four contests from Aug. 3-7 ... Haysville finished with club-record 35 wins (35-16) ... Played for the ABD Rookies from 2011-13.
