UCSDtritons.com Athlete of the Week (2/18) ... Three-time All-America honorable mention with top-16 finishes at NCAA Championships in 400 IM, 500 free and 800 free relay ... Broke five-year-old school standard in the 500 free on the second day of the PCSC meet, lowering Kneif Lohse's previous mark (4:26.81) from the 2009 NCAA Championships by over a full second in timing 4:25.48 and becoming a first-time individual conference champion and school record-holder ... The performance was also an A cut and booked his second straight trip to nationals ... Also won 400 IM (3:54.82) and 200 free (1:39.44) at PCSC Championships, and led off first-place, school-record 800 free relay (2/12) that timed 6:37.14.

Thus earned the right to represent Peru at the 2014 South American Championships in Mar del Plata, Argentina, Oct. 2-5 ...
