Former UC San Diego standout Clint Allard returns for his fourth season as an assistant coach with the Tritons in 2011-12. Allard joined the coaching staff prior to the 2008-09 season following an immensely successful playing career from 2004-08.

Allard is actively involved with all aspects of coaching and his primary responsibilities include monitoring the team's academic progress, scouting, recruiting, team travel and overseeing the program's film exchange and video operations. He is also responsible for player development with the guards.

A four-year starter, Allard posted career averages of 10.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.2 steals in 112 games as a Triton. In 2007-08, he was named to the All-CCAA Second Team after averaging 9.8 points and career-highs in rebounds (3.9), assists (4.6) and steals (1.2).

Allard also earned All-CCAA Tournament Team honors that season after leading the Tritons to their first conference tournament championship with a 64-56 win over Cal Poly Pomona. With the victory, UCSD advanced to the NCAA Division II West Regional for the first time and went on to finish the season with an overall record of 18-12, the program's best mark at the D-II level.

One of the best players the program has ever seen, Allard's name can now be found all over the UCSD record books. The former Archbishop Mitty High School product ranks 10th in all-time career scoring with a total of 1,150 points, third in career assists with 414 and ninth in career assist average at 3.7 per game.

In terms of Division II records, Allard holds the all-time career mark for scoring (1,150), assists (414), assist average (3.7), steals (130), minutes played (3,378) and games started (104). He ranks second in games played (112), rebounding (387), field goals attempted (635), free throws made (299) and free throws attempted (402).

Allard graduated from UCSD in 2008 with a degree in Management Science.
