Josh Tanner enters his first season as an assistant coach on the Tritons staff. He was a four-year letterwinner at UCSD from 2006-2009, helping the Tritons to four straight California Collegiate Athletic Association Tournament appearances and three consecutive trips to the NCAA West Regionals. As a junior, he helped the Tritons to a school record 43 wins and then guided the team to its first Division II College World Series as a senior.
Tanner wrapped up his playing career for the Tritons in June after hitting .419 and earning a National Rawlings Gold Glove award at third base as a senior. He also received All-West Region, All-CCAA First Team, All-CCAA
Tournament Team, and College World Series All-Tournament Team honors in
2009.
Tanner graduated from UCSD with a B.S. in Management Science in June 2009.
