Qualified for the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team Trials in Omaha, Neb., ahead of the London Games, and placed 90th in the 200 IM in 2:07.35 and 106th in the 100 fly in 55.66.
AS A JUNIOR IN 2011-12
Produced a stellar junior campaign after missing the first four meets of the season ... Three-time All-American in individual events with three top-four finishes ... Placed third in the 400 IM (3:53.77) after producing the top time in prelims (3:53.72) ... Also touched third in the 200 fly (1:46.86) and fourth in the 200 IM (1:47.38) ... Led off the fifth-place 400 free relay (2:59.04) ... Won the 400 IM (3:58.35) and 200 fly (1:49.53) at the 2012 PCSC Championships and was second in the 200 IM (1:51.11) behind teammate Nicholas Korth ... Was a member of the first-place 200 medley relay (1:30.00) and 800 free relay (6:38.30) ... Earned team's Swimmer of the Year and Most Improved awards ... AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2010-11
Earned All-America distinction by touching fourth in a school-record 3:56.38 in the finals of the 400 IM at the 2011 NCAA Championships in Canton, Ohio ... Competed in five events at the PCSC Championships ... Best result was a first-place finish in the 100 fly (49.82) ... Also finished second in the 200 IM (1:50.86) ... Placed third in the 200 fly (1:51.61) ... Was also part of the 200 medley relay team that placed eighth, racing a 22.32 split.
AS A FRESHMAN IN 2009-10
Recorded some of his fastest times at the Toshiba Classic in Long Beach ... Placed 12th in the 200 fly (1:53.43), 12th in the 200 IM (1:52.44) and 13th in the 100 fly (50.36).
