LA JOLLA, Calif. - Winners of 10 straight and 12 of the last 13, the UC San Diego women's volleyball team will travel to Cal Poly Pomona and Cal State San Bernardino this weekend, looking to keep the momentum going in the final two matches of California Collegiate Athletic Association play.

The Tritons will square off with the Broncos on Friday night at Darlene May Gym in Pomona, before concluding the 2010 regular season against the league-leading and sixth-ranked Coyotes on Saturday at Coussoulis Arena in San Bernardino. Both contests will start at 7:00 p.m.

With road victories over Cal State Dominguez Hills (3-0) and Cal State L.A. (3-2) last weekend, UCSD improved to 17-7 overall and moved into a tie with Cal State East Bay for second place in the league standings at 14-6. The Tritons came in at No. 4 in this week's NCAA West Regional poll for the second week in a row, all but clinching the program's fifth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance.

UCSD is currently receiving votes in this week's AVCA Division II Coaches Poll.

Cal Poly Pomona enters Friday's matchup with a season record of 10-15 and an 8-12 mark in CCAA play. The Broncos have lost three straight and five of their last seven to drop to ninth place in the league standings.

Cal State San Bernardino has put together another impressive campaign in 2010, entering play this week with a 23-2 overall record and near-flawless league mark of 19-1. The Coyotes have won 10 straight to sew up their fifth consecutive CCAA Championship and eighth title in the last 10 years.

CSUSB currently holds the top spot in the West Region, narrowly edging out No. 2 Seattle Pacific, which stands at 23-2. San Bernardino will entertain Cal State East Bay on Friday night, looking to avenge its only conference defeat of the season - a 3-2 setback in Hayward in October.

The Coyotes were the last team to defeat UCSD, recording a 3-1 win at RIMAC Arena on October 8. Senior outside hitter Nicole Moore sent down a match-high 17 kills for San Bernardino, while Samantha Middleborn tallied 14 kills and Megan Johnson finished with 13. Jane Chafeh contributed six kills to go with her team-high 18 digs.

Katie Condon finished with 11 kills for UCSD in the match, while Roxanne Brunsting finished with nine kills, 16 assists and 12 digs. Brunsting began serving for the first time in her career against the Coyotes and has posted five triple-doubles (kills-assists-digs) since.

The Tritons bounced back with a four-set triumph over Cal Poly Pomona the following evening and have not lost since. Condon had one of her best performances of the season against the Broncos, finishing with 19 kills, 20 digs and three service aces, while hitting at a .354 clip. Hillary Williamson also finished with a double-double, tallying 12 kills and 13 digs, while Julia Freidenberg had 12 kills on a hitting percentage of .571.

Statistically, UCSD ranks in the top three in the CCAA in five of seven categories, including hitting percentage (.228), opponent hitting percentage (.178), kills (13.61 per set), assists (12.69) and digs (18.11).
