LA JOLLA, Calif. - The UC San Diego women's volleyball team remained undefeated with a sweep of San Francisco State Sunday afternoon at RIMAC Arena. Scores were 25-19, 25-8 and 25-22.

It was the sixth straight win for the 15th-ranked Tritons, who improved to 6-0 overall and 2-0 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). The Gators dropped to 4-3 and stayed winless in the CCAA at 0-2. SFSU lost to No. 2 Cal State San Bernardino Friday in a weekend of CCAA play against ranked opponents.

For the fourth time this season, UCSD held its opponent to a sub-.100 attack percentage as San Francisco State finished at .097 with 32 kills and 20 errors in 124 attacks. The Tritons countered at .233 with 40 kills and 13 miscues in 116 attempts.

Hillary Williamson finished as UCSD's top kill producer for the fifth time this season and recorded her third double-double with 15 kills and 16 digs. She also posted her highest hitting percentage of the year, .424 (15-1-33) from the outside.

Katie Condon, who registered a double-double in Friday's victory against Cal Poly Pomona, kept her strong play up and had 10 kills and nine digs. Libero Janessa Werhane dug 18 balls, while Roxanne Brunsting had 18 assists, 13 digs, four kills and a pair of service aces.

Robyn Hall and Kelly Ostello each had eight kills for the Gators. Sarah Kurfess led all players with 20 digs.

Set one proved to be the most competitive as it had 10 tie scores and four lead changes. Four unanswered points by SF State gave the Gators a 17-16 lead, but UCSD scored the next five to go up 21-17. SFSU got within two at 21-19, but the Tritons ran off the last four points of the set to take the win.

The second frame was all UCSD as the Tritons hit .353 (15-3-34) to Gators' -.077 (5-8-39). UC San Diego raced out to a 10-1 lead. Williamson served five straight points and had two kills in the early run.

San Francisco State held a three-point lead at 10-7 in the third set. At 15-15, UCSD scored three straight points, two off Williamson kills and the other via a Lauren Demos ace, to go up 18-15 and never trail again. The Gators did rally late and shook off three consecutive match points to make the score 24-22, but a hitting error gave the set and the match to UCSD.

Up next, UCSD plays its first road league games - Friday, Sept. 16 at Cal State Dominguez Hills and Saturday, Sept. 17 at Cal State L.A. Both matches start at 7 p.m.
