CCAA Standings
With seven regular season CCAA matches left, the Tritons are currently alone in third place in the league with their 11-4 record. Cal State San Bernardino, ranked third nationally, is in first place with a perfect 15-0 record and Sonoma State, ranked 22nd in the country, is second at 15-1. Chico State, which received votes in the national poll for the second straight week Monday, is just behind UCSD in fourth place at 10-5. Entering the week, Cal State Stanislaus sits in ninth place with a CCAA record of 5-10.

Nine and Under
In Saturday's win over Cal State Dominguez Hills, no Triton reached double-digits in kills for the first time all season. Hillary Williamson led with nine, just the second time in 19 matches that she's had less than 10 kills. The last time was at home against Cal Poly Pomona on Sept. 9, when she also totaled nine.

McCutchan Goes Errorless
Sara McCutchan put together two straight solid performances at RIMAC Arena last week, combining for 13 kills and no errors in 25 attacks, a .520 hitting percentage. Against Cal State L.A., she hit .438 (7-0-16) and then topped that by swinging at a career-best .667 (6-0-9) the next night against Cal State Dominguez Hills.

Ain't Life Grand?
Several Tritons are closing in on the 1,000 mark in career statistical categories including Roxanne Brunsting (941 assists), Katie Condon (906 kills) and Hillary Williamson (933 digs, 924 kills). Janessa Werhane had 28 digs on Oct. 15 at Cal Poly Pomona to put the senior libero over 1,000 for her career. She's just the seventh Triton to reach the mark in the history of the program.

The Scoop on Brunsting
With 16 digs vs. Cal State San Bernardino on Oct. 5, Roxanne Brunsting moved into second place on UCSD's career list. The senior surpassed Leslie Punelli, who amassed 1,390 digs between 1997 and 2000. Brunsting currently has 1,475 digs to her name. The school record is 1,628 by Natalie Facchini (2004-07), 153 more than Brunsting.

Nationally, UCSD is ranked 5th in digs (19.13/set), 26th in assists (12.59/set) and 27th in kills (13.56/set) ... Hillary Williamson is 24th in kills (3.96/set) and 31st in points (4.50/set) and Janessa Werhane is 33rd in digs (5.13/set) ... In the CCAA, UCSD ranks 1st in digs and 3rd in kills ... Williamson is 2nd in kills and 3rd in points ... Werhane is 2nd in digs ... Williamson's 277 kills and 315 points are single season bests for her ... Opponents have hit over .200 just four times and not since CSUSB on Oct. 5 ... Tritons have out-aced opponent in all but two matches ... After losing three straight, UCSD has now won five consecutive, its longest streak since starting the season 9-0 ... Tritons have been ranked 18th nationally in the last three weekly polls ... Williamson and Katie Condon are the only two Tritons that have led UCSD in kills and/or points in a match this year.

Up Then Down
With its sweep over Cal State Stanislaus on Sept. 23, UCSD improved to 9-0, equaling its best ever start to a season. The Tritons have gone 9-0 to start a campaign four times - 2011, 2009 and 2004 in NCAA Division II play and 1990 while a member of NCAA Division III. The next night, the streak was broken by Chico State as the Wildcats took a 3-2 victory at RIMAC Arena.
