LA JOLLA, Calif. - The No. 15 UC San Diego women's volleyball team used 13 blocks and effective attacks by several players to net a four-set win over league opponent Cal State East Bay Friday night at RIMAC Arena. Scores were 23-25, 25-22, 25-15 and 25-16 as the Tritons recorded their 20th win of the season.

UCSD (20-5, 16-5 CCAA) got stellar performances from its senior outside hitter corps as Roxanne Brunsting, Katie Condon and Hillary Williamson combined for 40 of the Tritons' 55 kills.

Brunsting, who has two triple-doubles to her credit this season, missed her third by just two digs as she matched a season-best with 13 kills while adding 20 assists and eight digs. Brunsting's incredible performance also included a .333 attack percentage (13-3-30), a service ace, 17.5 points and six blocks, which matched her career-high she set just three matches ago.

Williamson, as she's done all season, led all players with 16 kills and 18 points to go along with two assists, an ace, 18 digs and a pair of blocks. She hit .382 (16-3-34), her highest attack percentage since Sept. 16. The Orange, Calif., native needs just 10 more kills to go over the 1,000 mark for her career. Williamson collected the 1,000th dig of her career Wednesday at top-ranked Cal State San Bernardino.

With 11 kills and 18 digs, Condon booked the ninth double-double of her season.

Along with Brunsting, Julia Freidenberg and Natasha Wilroy came up with some big blocks late. Freidenberg finished with five and Wilroy equaled a career-high with four.

Cal State East Bay (16-10, 11-10 CCAA) recorded 12 blocks of its own. Samantha Bruno had seven stuffs and Kitona Offord had four. Three Pioneers had 10 kills apiece including Katie Allen, Nicole Boyle and Morgan Hirzel. Leslie Ray totaled a match-high 27 digs.

East Bay ended up hitting .101 (45-29-159) as a team. UCSD left themselves room for improvement by hitting .188 (55-24-165) on the night. The Pioneers' hitting percentage got worse each set, while the Tritons hit .394 (16-3-33) in the pivotal third set. UC San Diego sided-out at 80% in that frame.

UCSD won the regular season series against CSUEB as the Tritons took a 3-2 victory in Hayward on Oct. 8.

The regular season comes to a close Saturday as UCSD hosts Cal State Monterey Bay, a team that defeated the Tritons, 3-1, in Seaside on Oct. 7, for a 7 p.m. match at RIMAC Arena. It will be Senior Night as the six graduating Tritons - Brunsting, Condon, Freidenberg, Janessa Werhane, Williamson and Wilroy - will be honored in pre-match ceremony.

UCSD students are admitted free to all home matches.

The field of 62 for the NCAA Tournament will be announced Sunday, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. PT at ncaa.com
