ON THE ROAD
UCSD will be happy to return to RIMAC this week after starting the 2012 season with eight straight matches on the road. Most recently, the Tritons went 3-1 at the Seawolf Spike, hosted by Sonoma State. They picked up wins over 18th-ranked Western Washington, Seattle Pacific and Dominican and lost vs. Central Washington. The week prior, UCSD went 2-2 at the Grand Canyon Invitational in Phoenix. Wins came against Western New Mexico and Colorado-Colorado Springs with losses vs. No. 13 Metro State and host Grand Canyon. The last time the Tritons started a season with such a long road swing was back in 2007 when they played nine away from home between San Bernardino and Hawaii.

REGARDING THE TOROS
Cal State Dominguez Hills comes into Friday's match with a 2-5 record. The Toros went 1-3 at Point Loma Nazarene's tourney to begin the season and followed that with a 1-2 mark at Cal State L.A.'s invitational. Elizabeth Krieger leads the Toros with 85 kills while Korryne Kelley has a team-high 140 digs. Whitney Lee's 31 blocks is a team-best and setter Dana Brown is averaging 8.83 assists per set.

REGARDING THE GOLDEN EAGLES
Cal State L.A. entered the week with a 2-5 overall mark and will open CCAA play Friday night at Cal State San Bernardino. Three of the team's losses have come in five sets. The Golden Eagles went 1-3 at the Western Oregon Invitational to open the season and then posted a 1-2 mark in their own tourney last week. Marquis Mora, who earned AVCA All-America honorable mention last season, leads the Golden Eagles with 89 kills and shares the team lead in blocks with Reanna Hill with 28. Mora also leads in service aces with 10 and points with 114.5. Freshman Alexandra Bura leads with 206 assists, while sophomore April Reyes has a team-high 92 digs.

DAZZLING DANIELLE
Freshman Danielle Dahle was named to the all-tournament team at last week's Seawolf Spike. The outside hitter was second in aces and fourth in kills among all players. In a win over No. 18 Western Washington, Dahle posted a career-high 26 kills and added 10 digs for her third double-double of the season. She's tallied 10 or more kills in five of eight matches.
