LA JOLLA, Calif. - UC San Diego's Danielle Dahle has been named the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Women's Volleyball Player of the Week. The announcement was made Monday by the league.
Dahle was instrumental in leading UCSD to a pair of CCAA victories this past week. Over the two matches, the freshman outside hitter posted a .397 attack percentage and averaged 4.0 kills, 3.4 digs and 4.6 points per set.
In a huge 3-1 upset over No. 18 Chico State, Dahle registered a team-high 14 kills and completed her fifth double-double of the year by adding a match-best 15 digs. She hit .440, had four blocks and led all players with 17.5 points.
The next night, Dahle produced a match-high 14 kills while hitting .364 in a sweep of Cal State Stanislaus. She also had nine digs in the victory.
This season, the La Mesa native leads UCSD in kills, aces, digs and points and is third in blocks.
The Tritons, who have won their last five matches, are 10-4 overall and own a share of first place in the CCAA at 5-1. They play at No. 22 Sonoma State Friday and at San Francisco State Saturday.
