CAL STATE SAN BERNARDINO REWIND #1
Despite 28 points and nine rebounds, both game highs, from Daisy Feder, UCSD suffered a narrow 66-62 loss at Coussoulis Arena on Dec. 16. The lead changed hands 18 times with CSUSB taking the last advantage of the game with 5:48 remaining. Feder, whose point total was just one short of her career high, was 9-for-19 from the floor. Erin Dautremont added 16 points and six boards for the Tritons, who finished with a 42.9 shooting percentage. The Coyotes totaled 25 points off the bench and were paced by Alexcia Mack's 19. Nicole Chapple followed with 12 points and Jaslyn Cosey added 11.

CAL STATE SAN BERNARDINO REWIND #2
UCSD avenged its earlier loss against CSUSB with a convincing 57-34 win over the Coyotes at RIMAC Arena on Dec. 30. The Tritons led wire to wire as Daisy Feder again came up big, posting her first double-double of the season with 15 points and a career high 13 rebounds. UCSD shot just under 47% from the floor and held the Coyotes to a 25.9 shooting percentage. The Tritons owned the boards, out-rebounding San Bernardino 44-27. Tayllor Gipson had team highs with eight points and four rebounds for the Coyotes.

PUSHING DAISY
Daisy Feder currently leads the CCAA and ranks sixth in the country in scoring. She has totaled at least 14 points in all 11 games this season, which included a career high 29 against Seattle Pacific on Nov. 16. Feder also ranks third in the league in free throw percentage and 10th nationally in three pointers per game. The senior guard entered the year with 966 career points and eclipsed 1,000 on Nov. 10 vs. Grand Canyon in Anaheim.

THE WIZARD OF OSGA
Senior guard Emily Osga is quickly approaching the 1,000 point mark for her career. The San Diego native came into the season with 835 points and has added 143 more so far, giving her a total of 978. Osga is second in free throw percentage and fifth in field goal percentage in the CCAA, so it shouldn't take her long to drain the remaining 22 points.

TAKING ON THE RANKED
Three of UCSD's first five opponents of the season were ranked among the nation's top 25 - Grand Canyon at No. 13, Western Washington at No. 14 and Gannon at No. 15. In addition, two other squads that weren't ranked when they played UCSD are now on the list. Simon Fraser is ninth and Tampa is 16th in the most recent WBCA poll, which was released on Dec. 18.

FEDER WINS LEAGUE HONOR
Daisy Feder was named the CCAA Player of the Week on Dec. 3. The senior guard led UCSD to a pair of league wins, scoring 21 points vs. Cal State L.A. and totaling 25 the next night against Cal State Dominguez Hills. She made seven three-pointers and was 9-for-9 from the free throw line over the two contests.

A LOOK AT THE BRONCOS
Cal Poly Pomona enters Thursday's game at 3-5 overall and 1-3 in the CCAA. The Broncos are tied for 10th place with Cal State Dominguez Hills. CPP's lone league win came against Cal State Stanislaus, while it has suffered two losses against Humboldt State and one against Chico State. Most recently, the Broncos split a pair of games at Azusa Pacific's tournament, defeating Point Loma Nazarene and falling to the host. J.J. Judge ranks fifth among all CCAA players in scoring, averaging 16.2 points per game. Ashley Boggs is third in the league in rebounding, pulling down 8.5 boards a game.

A LOOK AT THE LUMBERJACKS
Humboldt State comes into the week with a 7-3 overall record and a 3-1 mark in CCAA play - tied with UC San Diego for second place. The Jacks host Cal State San Bernardino Thursday night before taking on UCSD Saturday. HSU has recorded two league wins over Cal Poly Pomona and also downed Cal State Stanislaus. Its lone CCAA loss came against first place Chico State. In their last game, the Lumberjacks defeated Simpson, 92-77, in Arcata on Dec. 29. Lisa Petty is averaging 19.5 points a game, the third highest average among CCAA players. She also leads the Jacks on the boards, averaging 8.5 rebounds per game.

A SEASON TO REMEMBER
UCSD broke a school record for victories last season, finishing at 30-3 overall. The Tritons won the CCAA regular season crown with a 21-1 mark and advanced to the finals of the NCAA West Regional. Ranked No. 1 in the nation for seven straight weeks, UCSD defeated Chico State and Western Washington in Regional play before falling to Alaska-Anchorage in the title game. Senior guard Chelsea Carlisle was named a WBCA All-American while four Tritons were named First Team All-CCAA. Head coach Charity Elliott was tabbed the West Region Coach of the Year.

FUTURE TRITONS
First year head coach Heidi VanDerveer and her staff have announced the signing of four high school seniors that will suit up for the Tritons during the 2013-14 season. Committing to UCSD over the 2012 early signing period were Haley Anderson (guard/forward, 5-8, El Dorado Hills, Oak Ridge HS), McKenzie Bolden (guard, 5-5, Atlanta, Innocents Episcopal School), Hannah Johnson (forward/center, 5-11, Saratoga, Saratoga HS) and Taylor Tanita (guard, 5-6, Culver City, Culver City HS).
