LA JOLLA, Calif. – UC San Diego’s Miranda Seto and Drew Dyer of the women’s and men’s basketball programs have been named California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Players of the Week for the week of Nov. 18-24, announced by the conference Monday.

Seto led the Tritons to a split weekend at the West Region Crossover Classic, including a 72-66 overtime win against No. 13 Western Washington. The setback was suffered against No. 21 Seattle Pacific, who escaped with a 66-63 win on a three-pointer at the buzzer.

The junior guard scored a game-high 16 points in Saturday’s upset win over WWU. Seto nailed a pair of threes and hit six shots total from the field, including two from the charity stripe. She also contributed five rebounds and four assists in the comeback victory.

On Friday, the Redwood City native poured in 17 points on 6-14 shooting from the field, including finding the bottom of the net on three attempts from behind the arc. Seto grabbed three boards and dished out three assists in the near upset of SPU as well.

Overall, Seto averaged 16.6 points and grabbed five steals on the weekend. It marks the first such honor for her career.

Dyer, a 6'6" forward, recorded his first double-double of the season in a near victory over league-favorite Cal State San Bernardino Thursday. The Tritons fell in overtime, 77-73, despite 22 points and a career-high 14 rebounds from the sophomore.

The Aurora, Colo. native shot 7-16 from the floor, including a pair of treys, and capitalized on six-of-seven free throw opportunities. His 22 points and 14 rebounds, eight of the offensive side, were game-highs. It marks the first career conference award for Dyer.
