This week's games at Cal State Dominguez Hills and Cal State L.A. will wrap up a season-long, six-game road swing for the Tritons that started at Cal State Monterey Bay on Jan. 18. Since the 2000-01 season when UCSD joined the NCAA Division II ranks, it has never played more than five straight regular season games away from home. In addition, the Tritons have never played more than four consecutive CCAA games on the road.

Guard Daisy Feder leads the CCAA and ranks 12th nationally in scoring, averaging 19.4 points per game. She also leads the conference and ranks seventh in the country in three-pointers with her 3.0 average. Finally, Feder is tops among all CCAA players in free throw percentage at 82.9%. Feder has totaled at least 12 points in all 19 games, including a career-high 29 against Seattle Pacific on Nov. 16. She has led UCSD in scoring in 13 games and owns the team's top five highest point totals this season. Feder recorded the 1,000th point of her career against Grand Canyon on Nov. 10.

Senior guard Emily Osga recently became the second Triton (Daisy Feder) to score her 1,000th career point this season. Osga eclipsed the mark by recording 23 points in UCSD's 71-54 blowout victory at Humboldt State on Jan. 5. She was 9-for-14 from the floor while also adding seven rebounds and five assists.

Daisy Feder was named a Star of the Month for December by the San Diego Hall of Champions. Feder averaged a team-high 22.7 points and 8.3 rebounds per game over three CCAA contests. She also led UCSD in field goals made (23), field goal percentage (.500, 23-for-46), three-pointers made (11) and three-point field goal percentage (.440, 11-for-25) over the span. Feder drained 11 of 12 free throw attempts, just under 92 percent. Feder was also named a SDHOC Star of the Month back in February of 2012.

At No. 9, Chico State was the fourth nationally-ranked squad that the Tritons had played this season. Three of UCSD's first five opponents of the year were ranked among the nation's top 25 - Grand Canyon at No. 13, Western Washington at No. 14 and Gannon at No. 15. In addition, Simon Fraser, which wasn't ranked when it played UCSD, is now 13th. UCSD is 1-3 when taking on a nationally-ranked squad this season.

UCSD is tops among CCAA squads and ranks fifth nationally in free throw percentage, hitting 77.3 (242 for 313) percent of its shots from the line.

The Tritons have been hot from three-point land all season. They lead the CCAA in total threes (121) and three-point field goal percentage (.342). Nationally, UCSD ranks 44th in three-point percentage and 52nd in threes per game (6.4). The Tritons have netted at least 10 treys in six games, including a season-high 11 vs. Seattle Pacific on Nov. 16.

Erin Dautremont scored a game-high 20 points to help UCSD hold on for a slim 53-51 win at SFSU on Jan. 25. Both teams shot just under 35% for the game, but the Tritons were 15-for-24 at the free throw line compared to the Gators' 7-for-16 performance. SFSU held a 46-38 advantage in rebounds. Daisy Feder totaled 15 points, 11 of those coming at the charity stripe. Nicole Hicks led the Gators with 13 points.

Down by seven at the half, UCSD out-scored Sonoma State 40-16 in the second stanza to record a 62-45 victory at The Wolves' Den on Jan. 26. The Tritons out-shot the Seawolves (41% to 32%) and held a large advantage in rebounds (40-26). Three players recorded 10 or more points for UCSD, including Erin Dautremont (game-high 16), Daisy Feder (12) and McKennan Bertsch (10). Point guard Miranda Seto pulled down a career-high nine boards to lead all players. Travis Newman had a team-best 11 points for SSU.

The crowd of 1,012 at the Chico State game on Jan. 11 set a new RIMAC Arena mark for the most fans attending a non-Spirit Night (an annual campus event centered around a basketball doubleheader) game.

UCSD's 87 points against Cal State Stanislaus on Jan. 12 was a season-best. The last time the Tritons posted a higher point total was on Feb. 10, 2012 when they amassed 93 in a victory over Chico State at home.

Cal State Dominguez Hills comes into Friday's match-up at 6-10 overall and 5-7 in the CCAA, putting it in seventh place. The Toros split a pair of home games last week, losing to Cal Poly Pomona (79-68) and defeating Humboldt State (82-66). Monay Lee leads the team and ranks sixth in the league in scoring, averaging 14.4 points a game. Jamie Robinson leads the CCAA in rebounding at nine per game and is averaging double figures in scoring at 12.5 points per contest.

Cal State L.A. enters the week at 14-5 overall and 9-3 in the CCAA, tied with UCSD for second place. The Eagles, who are receiving votes in the latest WBCA national poll, have won three straight, most recently downing Humboldt State (72-70) and Cal Poly Pomona (62-42) at home. Tessondra Williams, the reigning CCAA Player of the Week, is second in the league in scoring, just behind UCSD's Daisy Feder (19.4 points per game) at 19.3 points per game. Richelle Najera leads the team in rebounding at 6.2 per contest.

A reminder that Spirit Night will take place on Friday, Feb. 8 when the women and men both host Humboldt State at RIMAC Arena. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. with the women tipping off at 5:30 and the men at 7:30. The Spirit Night trophy will be presented following the men's game and fireworks will close out the night on RIMAC Field. Last year's Spirit Night drew a crowd of 3,642.

Junior guard Nicole Anderson-Jew has decided to leave the team due to nagging knee issues. The San Rafael native played in five games for a total of 29 minutes this season. As a freshman, Anderson-Jew played in all 31 games with six starts, totaling 462 minutes. Last season, she saw action off the bench in 17 (170 minutes). For her career, she recorded 117 points, 71 rebounds, 82 assists and 34 steals over 53 games.

First year head coach Heidi VanDerveer and her staff have announced the signing of four high school seniors that will suit up for the Tritons during the 2013-14 season. Committing to UCSD over the 2012 early signing period were Haley Anderson (guard/forward, 5-8, El Dorado Hills, Oak Ridge HS), McKenzie Bolden (guard, 5-5, Atlanta, Innocents Episcopal School), Hannah Johnson (forward/center, 5-11, Saratoga, Saratoga HS) and Taylor Tanita (guard, 5-6, Culver City, Culver City HS).

UCSD broke a school record for victories last season, finishing at 30-3 overall. The Tritons won the CCAA regular season crown with a 21-1 mark and advanced to the finals of the NCAA West Regional. Ranked No. 1 in the nation for seven straight weeks, UCSD defeated Chico State and Western Washington in Regional play before falling to Alaska-Anchorage in the title game. Senior guard Chelsea Carlisle was named a WBCA All-American while four Tritons were named First Team All-CCAA. Head coach Charity Elliott was tabbed the West Region Coach of the Year.
