LET ME IN
UCSD students and children under seven are admitted free to all regular season home games. Tickets for all games at RIMAC Arena are available at the main entrance on game day. General admission prices are $10 for adults (ages seven and up) and $5 for seniors (ages 65 and up), visiting students and UCSD Alumni Association members. AIR BALL
For the third consecutive season, a majority of UCSD's men's basketball games will be broadcast by ESPN Radio 1700 AM. A total of 17 non-conference and California Collegiate Athletic Association games will be on air, including all home league games and select road conference games. Craig Elsten, in his fifth season as the voice of Triton men's and women's basketball during online broadcasts, serves as the play-by-play announcer. GOING LIVE
All UCSD home games will feature a free live video stream that will be coupled with the audio from the ESPN Radio 1700 AM broadcast. You can access the video/audio feed by clicking here. In addition, all home games will be covered by live stats, which can be viewed by clicking here.

COACH AND COACH
First-year UCSD head coach Eric Olen will be a weekly guest on The Mighty 1090's "Coach" Kentera Show all season long. Olen will join host John Kentera live this Thursday, Jan. 23, at 8:30 p.m.

NATIONAL PRIDE
UCSD ranks among the top 50 teams in the nation in fewest turnovers (40th, 169), scoring defense (45th, 68.4) and three pointers/game (48th, 8.5).

Individually, James McCann ranks 10th in assist/turnover ratio (3.3), 19th in assists/game (5.9) and 32nd in assists (83).

HELPING HANDS
James McCann is closing in on UCSD's Division II (since the 2000-01 season) career assists record. Heading into this week's games, the senior guard has accumulated 391 career helpers, which ranks second on the school's list. The DII record is held by Clint Allard, who dished out 414 assists between 2004 and 2008. The all-time school record is 496 by Darvin Jackson (1988-92).

McMORE ON McCANN
Earlier this season, James McCann scored his 1,000th career point. He entered the year with 934 and his 11-point performance at Humboldt State on Dec. 5 put him over the mark. He is just the third Triton to accumulate 1,000 points during the team's NCAA Division II era (since the 2000-01 season). Overall, he is the 12th UCSD player in program history to join the club.

TRITON NOTES
For the second time this year, UCSD netted a season-high 12 threes at San Francisco State ... Opponents have hit more threes than UCSD just four times this year ... The Tritons made good on 81% (25-31) of their free throws during last week's road trip ... Treavon Francis scored a career-high five points at Sonoma State ... Drew Dyer has made at least one three-pointer in 11 of 14 games ... James McCann has dished out five or more assists 11 times and eight assists four times this season ... McCann has totaled 10 or more points in 13 of 14 games … Zach McMillan's 16 rebounds against UC Merced were a career-best and the most since Casey Ryan pulled down 20 against San Francisco State on Feb. 3, 2011 ... Three Tritons have posted double-doubles this season: MacKenzie McCullough (15 points, 10 rebounds vs. CSU Monterey Bay), James McCann (23 points, 10 rebounds vs. CSU East Bay) and Drew Dyer (22 points, 14 rebounds at CSU San Bernardino) ... Head coach Eric Olen earned his first career win on Nov. 15 with a 66-56 victory against Daemen College at RIMAC Arena … Olen's inaugural win came in his first career regular season contest ... The Tritons’ 95 points against St. Katherine on Nov. 27 were the most the team had scored in regulation since Nov. 4, 2011, when it poured in 102 against Chestnut Hill ... Duke Doulphus, Kevin Harris, Adam Klie, Aleks Lipovic, Michael Robinson and Darryl Wong have all seen their first career action as a Triton this season.

WEEKLY REWIND
UCSD dropped both of its CCAA games on the road last week. In a 79-54 loss at Sonoma State, the Tritons made just three of their 24 three-point shots and shot 34% overall. They were out-rebounded 31-18. James McCann was the lone Triton with a double-figure point total, netting 17 to go along with a game-high six rebounds. The next night at San Francisco State, UCSD drained 12 threes, but suffered an 82-68 setback. Five Tritons totaled 10 or more points, led by 15 from Drew Dyer. The Gators, who scored the first two points of the game and led wire-to-wire, held a 38-25 advantage in rebounds.

DYER DAZZLES
Drew Dyer was named the CCAA Player of the Week on Nov. 25. The 6'6" forward recorded his first double-double of the season in a near victory over league favorite Cal State San Bernardino on Nov. 21. The Tritons fell in overtime, 77-73, despite 22 points and a career-high 14 rebounds from the sophomore. The Aurora, Colo., native was 7-for-16 from the floor, including a pair of treys, and capitalized on six-of-seven free throw opportunities. His 22 points and 14 rebounds, eight on the offensive side, were game-highs. It marked the first career conference award for Dyer.

HEAD COACH ERIC OLEN
Long-time UCSD assistant coach Eric Olen was named the program's 12th head coach on Oct. 1, 2013. Olen joined the Tritons as a second assistant for the 2004-05 season and was promoted to first assistant the next season. He was on the bench during the 2007-08 campaign when UCSD won its first-ever CCAA Tournament title and earned its first berth in the NCAA Tournament. As a player at Spring Hill College in Mobile, Ala., Olen helped the Badgers to three straight appearances in the NAIA National Tournament, including trips to the NAIA Elite Eight in 2000 and 2001.

ABOUT THE TOROS
Cal State Dominguez Hills enters Friday's match-up at 5-2 overall and 2-8 in the CCAA, tied with Humboldt State for 10th place. The Toros have lost five straight games, including last week's home tilts against Humboldt State (78-50) and Cal Poly Pomona (60-52). Givon Crump leads the team in scoring, averaging 12.4 points/game, while Darnell Martin is pulling down a team-best 6.5 rebounds/game. Crump leads the league in free throw percentage at 84.8%. Moriba DeFreitas averages 1.2 blocks/game, tied for second in the CCAA. CSUDH is scoring just 65.2 points/game, the lowest average in the conference. The team ranks fifth in rebounding, grabbing 35.8/game.

ABOUT THE SERIES
UCSD holds a slight 19-17 edge in the all-time series against Cal State Dominguez Hills, which dates back to 1970. The teams split the 2012-13 series with UCSD winning in Carson (69-62) and CSUDH winning in La Jolla (58-57). In the win, five Tritons scored 10 or more points, led by James McCann's 16. UCSD out-rebounded CSUDH 39-22, including 13-5 on the offensive glass. The Toros came from behind in the other game as they were trailing by a score of 36-29 at halftime. Tyler McGrath led all players with 19 points, while Drew Dyer had 13 and McCann had 10 for UCSD.

ABOUT THE GOLDEN EAGLES
Cal State L.A. brings a 10-4 overall record into the week and sits in a three-way tie for third in the CCAA at 7-3. The Golden Eagles have lost three of their last four after winning seven straight games. Last week, they split at home, losing against Cal Poly Pomona (64-57) before downing Humboldt State (74-70). Quinton Watkins is scoring 19.9 points/game, the third highest average in the CCAA. James Tillman is eighth, averaging 16.0 points/game, and is seventh in the league in rebounding at 6.6/game. As a team, the Golden Eagles top the CCAA in rebounding, grabbing 38.1 boards/game. They are tied for second in blocks at 3.9/game. CSULA plays at Cal State San Bernardino Friday night.

ABOUT THE SERIES
UCSD leads the all-time series against Cal State L.A., 15-13. Last season, the teams split two games, each winning on the road. In Los Angeles, Hunter Walker's game-high 14 points led to a 50-34 Triton victory. Cal State L.A. made just 19.6% of its shots and only one of its 16 three-point attempts. UCSD led 16-10 at the half. The Eagles won 61-54 in La Jolla despite James McCann's game-high 18 points. James Tillman and Joshua Munzon each netted 16 for CSULA.

CCAA TOURNAMENT RETURNS TO ONTARIO
The 2014 CCAA Championship Tournament returns to Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, Calif., March 6-8. This year, the tournament will feature a new format that includes 12 teams (six men's teams and six women's teams) instead of the previous 16-team field. All tournament games will be played at Citizens Business Bank Arena, with the first round campus site games eliminated. The top two men's teams and top two women's teams will receive a first-round bye, while the No. 3, 4, 5 and 6 seeds on each side will play a first round elimination game on Thursday, March 6. Semifinal games between the first-round winners and the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds will take place on Friday, March 7, and the championship games will be played on Saturday, March 8. The men's and women's teams that win the CCAA Tournament will receive automatic qualification into the 2014 NCAA Division II Championship Tournament.

UCSD remains at RIMAC Arena next week to kick off the second half of the CCAA season. The Tritons host Cal Poly Pomona on Friday, Jan. 31, and Humboldt State on Saturday, Feb. 1. UCSD lost at CPP (70-63) on Dec. 7 and defeated HSU (75-69) in Arcata on Dec. 5.
