LA JOLLA, Calif. - Megan Perry recorded her first career double-double to pace the UC San Diego women's basketball team to a 52-50 victory against Azusa Pacific Saturday in the final game of the fourth annual Thanksgiving Classic at RIMAC Arena.

UCSD, which holds a three-game win streak, is now 4-1 on the season after posting a pair of wins at its own tourney. On Friday, the Tritons narrowly downed Metro State, 62-61, in overtime.

Perry pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds and added a team-best 11 points. Five of her boards came on the offensive glass and the senior guard also chipped in with two assists and a steal in a full 40 minutes of play.

Junior forward McKennan Bertsch also turned in a strong performance for UCSD Saturday, collecting eight points and 10 rebounds. Senior forward Erin Dautremont and freshman guard Haley Anderson each totaled nine points and junior guard Stephanie Yano dealt five assists and had two steals.

Kelly Hardeman led APU (2-3) with a game-high 15 points. Allison Greene had 12 points and a team-best eight boards.

The Tritons dominated on the boards, out-rebounding the Cougars 52 to 38. Neither team shot well with APU finishing at 31.7 percent (20-for-63) and UCSD posting a 28.1 percentage (16-for-57).

The game was tied seven times total, the last coming with exactly two minutes left in the second half when APU's Sullivan Ziegler drilled a three-pointer to even the score at 48-48. However, the Tritons scored the game's next four points on free throws to go up 52-48. Greene made a layup for the Cougars as time expired to account for the final score.

UCSD led 28-24 at halftime.

In the day's first game, Cal State San Bernardino defeated Metro State, 60-52. Alexcia Mack led all players with 17 points and Tayllor Gipson finished with 15 points for the Coyotes. The Roadrunners got 15 points from Cassie Lambrecht and 14 out of Amy Nelson. However, they turned the ball over 22 times, leading to 18 points for CSUSB.

Dautremont and Perry were both named to the all-tournament team. Dautremont was tabbed the tourney's most valuable player after averaging a tournament-best 17.5 points per game over two contests. In Friday's win against Metro State, she netted 26 points, the highest single-game total of the tournament. Dautremont was selected to the UCSD Thanksgiving Classic All-Tournament Team last season as well.

UCSD now dives into its California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) season full-time. The Tritons play at Humboldt State on Dec. 5, and at Cal Poly Pomona on Dec. 7. Both games are slated for 5:30 p.m. starts.
