ONTARIO, Calif. - Miranda Seto and Erin Dautremont of the UC San Diego women's basketball team earned All-California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) accolades for their play during the 2013-14 season. The selections were announced Wednesday at a banquet on the eve of the league tournament.
Seto was tabbed First Team All-CCAA, while Dautremont was named to the conference's second team.
A junior guard, Seto leads the Tritons in scoring (14.2 points/game), free throws made (95), free throws attempted (119), free throw percentage (.798) and steals (2.0/game). She is also averaging 4.5 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game and ranks among the CCAA's top 10 in several statistical categories, including scoring, steals, assists and free throw percentage. Seto has scored at least 10 points in 18 of 22 games played, including a career-high 25 against No. 17 Cal Poly Pomona on Jan. 31.
It is the first All-CCAA selection for the Redwood City native.
Dautremont, a senior forward, is UCSD's top rebounder, averaging 6.7 boards a game. She also leads the Tritons in field goals made (105), field goals attempted (247) and field goal percentage (.425) and is third in scoring (10.7 points/game). Dautremont has recorded a team-high five double-doubles this season and scored her 1,000th career point against Humboldt State on Feb. 1.
A West Hills native, Dautremont was a First Team All-CCAA selection last season.
Cal Poly Pomona's Jada Blackwell was named the 2014 CCAA Player of the Year, while Ana Burch of Cal State Stanislaus picked up Newcomer of the Year accolades. CPP's Danelle Bishop was tabbed the league's Coach of the Year.
Fourth-seeded UCSD (16-10, 13-9 CCAA) takes on fifth-seeded Cal State L.A. (16-10, 13-9 CCAA) Thursday in first round action of the CCAA Tournament. The game tips at 5:30 p.m. at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario. For complete tourney information, click here.
