LA JOLLA, Calif. - A well-rounded attack led the No. 24 UC San Diego women's volleyball team to a 3-1 win over league rival Cal Poly Pomona Saturday evening at RIMAC Arena. Scores of the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) match went 19-25, 25-15, 25-19 and 25-19.

With its sixth-straight victory, UCSD elevated its season record to 17-6 while moving to 12-3 in the CCAA. The Tritons remain in second place in the league as leader Cal State San Bernardino defeated Humbolt State Saturday to improve to 13-2.

Three Tritons finished with double-digit kill totals, including Sophie Rowe, who put away a match-high 18 kills and added 14 digs to complete a double-double. Sara McCutchan followed with 14 kills and Danielle Dahle totaled 12.

For the second-straight night, McCutchan, a middle blocker, had a stellar offensive outing. She hit .440 with the 14 kills and only three errors in 25 attempts. McCutchan finished with 16.0 points as she put up four block assists as well. Friday night, the sophomore hit .889 with eight kills and zero errors in nine attacks and recorded five blocks in a sweep over Humboldt State.

Brittany Lombardi had a match-high 21 digs, while Kameron Cooper had seven kills, three digs and a match-best seven blocks. Amber Hawthorne racked up 50 assists while guiding UCSD to a .248 (62-24-153) attack percentage.

For the Broncos, Jessica Doerner led in the kills column with 14. Alex Hasen hit .625 with five kills and no errors in eight attacks, while Taylr Kreutziger and Diana Lake each finished with nine kills. Lauren Jones had seven blocks. Kelly Bonja was the defensive standout with 18 digs.

For the fourth time this year, UCSD posted 13 blocks, its season-high. Until this evening, the Tritons hadn't dropped a set since Oct. 16 as they had swept their last three opponents.

CPP, which fell to 10-12 overall and 6-9 in the CCAA, swung at .168 with 48 kills and 24 errors in 143 attacks.

The Tritons' six-match win streak ties their longest of the season. UCSD and Sonoma State currently own the longest win streaks among CCAA squads.

UCSD trips north to play at Cal State Stanislaus on Nov. 2 and at Chico State on Nov. 3. The Tritons defeated both teams in late September at RIMAC Arena.
