Feder, Osga Earn Capital One Academic All-District Honors

LA JOLLA, Calif. - Senior guards Daisy Feder and Emily Osga of the UC San Diego women's basketball team were named to the Capital One Academic All-District First Team on Thursday.

To be eligible, a student-athlete must carry at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA, be at least a sophomore, have completed a full year at the institution and possess legitimate athletic credentials.

In the classroom, Feder maintains a 3.36 grade point average in ethnic studies.

Feder leads the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) and ranks 12th in the nation in scoring, averaging 19.4 points per game. In addition, the Santa Monica native out of Santa Monica High School leads all CCAA players in three-point field goals per game at 3.0, the seventh-best figure among all Division II players. Feder also has a conference-leading free throw percentage of 82.9 percent. She recorded her 1,000th-career point on Nov. 10 against then-No. 13 Grand Canyon.

Osga, a San Diego native from Patrick Henry High School, holds a 3.7 grade point average in human biology.

Osga ranks second in the CCAA in both field-goal percentage (50.3%) and three-point field goal percentage (41.7%). She also surpassed the 1,000-point mark for her career at Humboldt State on Jan. 5.

Both now move on to the Capital One Academic All-America ballot, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

UCSD, which has won six of its last seven games, begins the final weekend of a six-game road trip this Friday and Saturday with league contests at Cal State Dominguez Hills and Cal State L.A. UCSD and CSULA are tied for second place in the CCAA.
