SEASIDE, Calif. - Erin Dautremont recorded a double-double to lead the UC San Diego women's basketball team to a 56-48 victory against Cal State Monterey Bay Thursday night at The Kelp Bed.
UCSD, which snapped a four-game slide with the win, improved to 12-9 overall and 9-8 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). CSUMB fell to 5-15 and 2-15.
Dautremont racked up 13 points to go along with a game-high 10 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season. The senior forward was 5-for-9 from the field and made three of four free throws.
Triton junior guard Miranda Seto led all players with 16 points. She was just 3-for-11 from the floor, but made 10 of 12 free throws. She also added six rebounds, an assist and two steals. Senior guard Megan Perry finished with 13 points, three boards and two steals.
The Otters received 13 points and eight rebounds from Chezla Self, while Ashley Morgan had 10 points and seven rebounds and Holly Holcomb pulled down a team-high nine rebounds.
The score was tied 23-23 at halftime, but an early 10-0 run by UCSD in the second frame gave the Tritons at 37-30 lead with just over 11 minutes left to play. UC San Diego held a lead the rest of the way.
The Tritons held a 33 percent to 31 percent edge in shooting, but made just one of 18 three-point attempts.
UCSD plays at Cal State East Bay Saturday with tip-off slated for 5:30 p.m.
