TRITON UPDATE
Senior Nicole Spangler leads the team with a .390 batting average, 32 hits and eight doubles. Catcher Caitlin Brown has a team-best .562 slugging percentage, 25 RBI and five home runs. Emily McQuaid leads the team with 14 stolen bases, while Kirsten Willmon is 8-for-9. Mya Romero is second in the CCAA with 67 assists on the season, while the team is currently third with 271. In the circle, Jennifer Manuel holds a 5-1 record with a 1.88 ERA. Both Manuel and Kayla Hensel have eight starts. Hensel has a team high 15 appearances with 65.1 innings pitched, compiling a 8-4 record. Alexis Edwards owns a 1.04 ERA and 0.58 in CCAA play in her 14 appearances to lead the conference. Michelle Escamilla rounds out the pitching team with 11 appearances over the season and seven starts. Escamilla has only given up 38 hits in her 34.0 innings of play.

SCOUTING THE GATORS
SF State enters the weekend with a 7-13 CCAA record, placing them at seventh in the conference standings. The Gators are coming off a series sweep by Humboldt State.

As a team, the Gators hold a collective .249 batting average, led by Courtney Gravel with a .309 average off a team-high 25 hits. Kylie Grabowski and Ashley Huff follow with .291 and .267 averages, and Lucy Fernandez rounds up the top four hitters with a .261 average and .420 slugging percentage. Grabowski, who is currently on a four-game on base streak, has 23 hits on the season with a team-high 16 RBIs. From the circle, Marisa Ibarra is tied for third in the CCAA with 10 victories (10-6). Ibarra has pitched 100.2 innings with a 1.67 ERA.

AROUND THE CCAA
After a week off of competition, the Tritons remain strong in conference standings as they are currently tied for third with Chico State. Both squads hold a 13-7 record in CCAA play. Humboldt State sits first with a 16-4 record in league, while Sonoma State comes in close behind at 14-6.

HOT HITTER
Junior Caitlin Brown hit three home at Cal State East Bay the weekend of Mar. 8-9, bringing her season total to five. The catcher made a jump up the program's career leader board to the number four spot with 16. Jenny Maze (2004-08) owns the program record with 35 career home runs.

CLIMBING THE CHARTS
Nicole Spangler is posting chart-climbing numbers with eight doubles on the season. She'll need 13 to get on UCSD's single season top-10 list. She also shows high marks with a .390 batting average. .390 is the number to beat as Amy Mettee finished the 2003 season with that exact batting average, taking the No. 10 spot on the single-season top 10 list.

SPEED KILLS
Emily McQuaid ranks third in the CCAA and leads the Tritons with 14 stolen bases, showing she is a runner to keep your eye on. McQuaid had a single-game high three steals against Regis University on Feb. 17 and posted two against Cal State San Bernardino (Feb. 9) and Cal State East Bay (Mar. 8). She has already tied her previous single season high, set her freshman year, at 14 and now hold a career total of 40.
