Gaito Named CCAA's Pitcher of the Week

LA JOLLA, Calif. - Pitcher Camille Gaito of the No. 22 UC San Diego softball team has been named the California Collegiate Athletic Association's (CCAA) Pitcher of the Week for the week of Mar. 5-11, it was announced on Monday.

Gaito, a senior from San Rafael, Calif., went 3-1 with a .50 ERA in five appearances against Felician and No. 5 Cal State Dominguez HIlls. Over 28 innings, she allowed nine hits, two earned runs, walked four and struck out 22. Opponents managed to only hit .094 while she was in the circle.

Gaito made four appearances against the CCAA's top team, Cal State Dominguez Hills, over the weekend. She went 2-1 with a .30 ERA and surrendered six hits, one earned run, walked three and struck out 18 in 23 innings of work. The Tritons took three of four games from the Toros.
