WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - UC San Diego ace Camille Gaito earned California Collegiate Athletic Association softball Pitcher of the Week for the week of Mar. 12-18, the conference announced on Monday. The award marks the second consecutive week in which Gaito has been named the CCAA's Top Pitcher.
The senior right-hander went 2-0 with 0.00 ERA and two complete-games against Humboldt State last week. In two starts, she worked 11.0 innings, allowed five hits, no runs, walked one and struck out four.
In addition, Gaito moved into second place all-time for career innings pitched with 682.2 and lowered her career ERA to 1.09, second-best in UCSD history. She currently holds the lowest ERA in the CCAA (1.23) and has the most wins (14-4).
