UCSD, Cal State East Bay to Get Underway at 3:00 p.m. Monday

LA JOLLA, Calif. - No. 14 UC San Diego and Cal State East Bay will face off on Monday and Tuesday, instead of Sunday and Monday as originally scheduled. Both doubleheaders will be covered by Live Stats.

GAITO THE POW
Camille Gaito repeated as the CCAA Pitcher of the Week, it was announced by the conference on Monday. She's been tabbed the CCAA's Top Pitcher since March 12 and three times this season. In seven appearances and 39 innings worked since March 7, Gaito is 5-1 with a 0.36 ERA, surrendering just 14 hits, two earned runs and two extra-base hits. She's struck out 26 batters and limited her opponents to a .104 average. Since, Feb. 11, Gaito has lowered her ERA by a whole point (2.24 to 1.23) and she now sits in second place in the UCSD record books with a 1.09 career ERA. Gaito has won CCAA Pitcher of the Week nine times in her career.

A COOL SIX PACK
UCSD has rattled off six consecutive wins since March 10, including nine wins in its last 10, and 13 victories in the last 15.The Tritons have outscored their opponents 45-10 over their last six games, half of the wins coming via run-rule. Still, the Tritons sit in fourth in the CCAA with a .750 winning percentage despite being tied for the most amount of wins in the CCAA (18) and having played the most amount of games in conference competition (24). UCSD is on its longest regular-season win streak since taking six in a row between Feb. 20 and Mar. 4, 2011.

WHO SAID CATCHERS CAN'T HIT?
Sophomores Charly Swanberg and Caitlin Brown have essentially shared the catcher and designated player position throughout the season and each tore it up at the plate against Humboldt State. Over four games, Swanberg and Brown combined for a .632 average (12-for-19), 12 RBI, 19 total bases, 13 putouts and two assists. Swanberg's .727 average (8-for-11) was the highest of any Triton player in a single four-game series this season. Brown became the first Triton this year to hit two home runs in a single contest with a pair in the finale against HSU. Swanberg (.400) and Brown (.364) have the highest and third-highest batting averages, respectively, on this year's squad. Kris Lesovsky is batting .390.

ON THE RUN
UCSD was perfect on the base paths against the ‘Jacks last Tuesday and Wednesday, going 9-for-9 on stolen base attempts. Kirsten Willmon was 5-for-5 stealing, improving her CCAA-best total to 14 thefts on 14 attempts this season. The Tritons' perfect track record was their second series in a row in which they failed to get caught. UCSD went 5-for-5 against Cal State Dominguez Hills. Willmon (14-14) and Lesovsky (10-10) haven't been thrown out this season and the team has been successful 84-percent (44-for-52) of the time when stealing.

CAL STATE EAST BAY
The Pioneers come into this week's games in sixth place in the CCAA with an 8-12 conference record. CSUEB is second in the conference in slugging percentage and total hits, and leads the CCAA with 35 home runs. Taylor Neumann leads the league with 12 homers and ranks third with 33 RBI. Devin Salmones is second in the CCAA with eight home runs. UCSD is 6-2 all-time against Cal State East Bay. Interestingly, CSUEB was the only team to beat UCSD via run-rule last season.

NOTES
Michelle Escamilla, Jennifer Manuel and Kayla Hensel combined for a one-hitter in the series finale against HSU ... Lesovsky is one run away from tying the career runs scored record (162) ... Lesovsky also needs seven more RBI and 26 more hits for those school records ... Gaito moved into second place in UCSD history with 682.2 innings pitched and 124 appearances ... Mya Romero hit .455 with a team-high seven RBI against Humboldt ...Willmon went 5-for-15 and matched Romero with a team-high five runs scored ... Brown slugged 1.375 against Humboldt ... Emily McQuaid went 0-for-4 against HSU, but walked four times and scored four times against the ‘Jacks ... She also got on base on 5-of-10 plate appearances ... Annie Heskett registered her first career RBI in game three against HSU, a walk-off ... Gaito needs one more win for 80 career victories ... Lesovsky has raised her career batting average by five points over her last 10 games (.388, school record).
