STARKVILLE, Miss. - UC San Diego softball ace
Camille Gaito was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America Second Team for the second consecutive season, it was announced Wednesday morning.
45 players from 31 different institutions were selected to one of three NFCA DII All-America teams. Gaito is the only representative from UCSD.
Gaito is currently pitching against No. 1 Valdosta State (53-4) in the NCAA DII Softball Championship in Louisville, Ky. The Tritons are looking to become the first team to win back-to-back national championships since California (Pa.) accomplished the feat in 1998.

Gaito - UCSD's all-time leader in wins, saves, appearances, innings pitched, strikeouts and complete games - is a three-time NFCA All-American. She earned honorable mention All-America honors as a sophomore in 2010.
Gaito is 29-10 this year with a 1.17 ERA in 45 apperances over 257.2 innings. She's 6-2 in the NCAA Tournament thus far, has struck out 32, and has limited batters to a .192 average. Her ERA during the NCAA's stands at 0.66.
The San Rafael, Calif. native was named Daktronics, Inc. All-America Honorable Mention earlier in the week. In addition, she has earned All-CCAA First Team, NFCA All-West Region First Team, Daktronics, Inc. All-West Region First Team and CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-District this season.
California Collegiate Athletic Association opponent Cal State Monterey Bay led the nation with four All-Americans while Alabama-Huntsville and Valdosta State followed with three apiece.
