LA JOLLA, Calif. - The UC San Diego men's tennis team wrapped up play at the 124th Annual Pacific Coast Doubles Championship Saturday at the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club.

Following a bye in the second round of the consolation draw, Camill Salomon and Devon Sousa split a pair of matches. The team won its third round contest, defeating independents Chris Dunk and Arthur Hernandez by scores of 6-4 and 7-5. However, Salomon and Sousa were knocked out of contention in the fourth round as they were downed by Pepperdine's Mousheg Hovhannisyan and David Sofaer, 6-3 and 6-2. Hovahannisyan and Sofaer went on to win their quarterfinal match-up and will compete in a semifinal Sunday morning.

Also playing in the third round of the consolation draw for the Tritons were Ganesh Alagappan and Horea Porutiu. The duo was eliminated by independents Yousef Benhamida and Zachary Leslie. After winning the opening set, 6-4, Alagappan and Porutiu dropped the next two, 7-5 and 7-5.

UCSD assistant coaches Tavi Popaluca and Jason Wall competed in three consolation bracket matches Saturday. After a bye in the second round, they defeated Spencer Canny and Christian McKean of Boston College, 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 in the third round. Moving on to round four, Popaluca and Wall took down Toledo's Bryant Dudzik and Ryan Jorgensen by scores of 3-6, 6-2, 6-2. Popaluca and Wall's run ended in the quarterfinals as they were topped by Furman's Joel Cook and Andrew Mellow, 6-3, 6-2.

The tournament, the second-oldest in the United States, runs through Sunday.
