In the Main Draw Back Draw, Guy Giubilato and Camill Salomon needed extra games and sets, respectively, to oust their opponents. Giubilato defeated Concordia's Bruno Kliskiric, 7-6, 3-6, 10-7, and Salomon beat UC Santa Barbara's Axel Bouillin, 7-5, 6-4.

Down 4-6 after losing the first set, Horea Porutiu evened his match with a second-set, 6-2 score in his Qualifying Back Draw Quarterfinals contest against Daniel Simko of Loyola Marymount. In the third set, Porutiu knocked Simko out of the bracket with a 6-3 victory.

The Tritons also turned their attention to doubles play and scored a pair of victories in the Qualifying Round of 16, including Salomon and Devon Sousa's hard-fought triumph over Jan Meyer and Gary Yam of Azusa Pacific to win, 9-7.

Beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Giubilato will face UCSB's Ziad Sultan while Salomon will oppose APU's Jochem Hoefnagels in Main Draw Back Draw Semifinals.

Porutiu will next contend with Micah Groom of Concordia in the Qualifying Back Draw Semifinals, starting at 11:30 a.m.

Additionally, the doubles team of Salomon and Sousa and the duo of Dell and Luu, respectively, will compete against BYU's twosome of Travis Fillmore and Francis Sargeant and the San Diego pairing of Romain Kalaydjian and Victor Pugliese at a yet-to-be-determined time in the Quarterfinals of Qualifying Collegiate Doubles.
