Triton Tennis Finishes Strong at SDSU Fall Invite

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Five Tritons of the UC San Diego men's tennis team came away with victories on the final day of the SDSU Fall Invitational on Sunday at the Aztec Tennis Center.

Sam Ling beat Mario Urquidi in a tiebreaker in Bracket A/B, 7-6 (7), 3-6, 1-0 (10-8).

In the C/D Bracket, Jason Wall, Austin West, Chapman Chan, and Junya Yoshida all prevailed. Jake Fellow and Devon Sousa fell in straight sets for UCSD.

Yoshida went 6-1 for the weekend and UCSD compiled a 26-22 overall record for the weekend.

The next competition for UCSD will be at the ITA Small College National Championships in Mobile, Alabama, October 14-17. Erik Elliott and West recently won the ITA West Region doubles title on October 2, earning the duo a spot in the tournament.
