Max Jiganti picked up two wins on Sunday for the Tritons.
No. 19 UCSD Defeated by No. 16 Abilene Christian, 6-3

MALIBU, Calif. - The 19th-ranked UC San Diego men's tennis team suffered its seventh consecutive loss Sunday, falling to No. 16 Abilene Christian, 6-3. The Tritons captured one win in doubles and and two on the singles ladder before falling to the Wildcats.

Max Jiganti secured two wins against ACU. He was victorious in his debut at No. 2 singles and has now won four straight contests. Jiganti is 6-3 in doubles this season after winning at No. 3 Sunday.

Jiganti paired with Sam Ling to defeat ACU's Guilherme Gesser and Michael Morris, 8-5. The duo of Jiganti and Ling sits at 6-1 overall at No. 3 doubles in 2012. At the No. 1 spot, Austin West and Devon Sousa fell to Wildcats Nick Plum and Hans Hach, 8-5. Jason Wall and Kona Luu lost at No. 2, 8-4, to Alfredo Desiati and Borja Cortes.

Jiganti went on to the singles ladder to beat Plum at No. 2, 6-1, 1-6, 6-4. Joining him with a singles win was Sousa, playing at No. 6. Sousa, making his season debut in singles play, defeated Morris, 6-2, 2-6, 6-3. At No. 1, Chapman Chan was defeated by Hach, 6-4, 6-2. Hach is tied for No. 6 in the national rankings, amassing an 18-3 record at No. 1 so far this season.

The Tritons wrap up their regular season on Friday, Apr. 20 as they travel to Point Loma Nazarene for a 2:30 p.m. match.
