LA JOLLA, Calif. - The UC San Diego women's basketball team commenced California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) play on Friday at RIMAC, handing the Golden Eagles of Cal State L.A. their first loss by a score of 70-49.

The Tritons improve to 3-5 overall and 1-0 in conference play and will take on Cal State Dominguez Hills (1-4, 0-2) on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.

Senior guard Daisy Feder led all Tritons and shared the game-high with 21 points. Feder also had two rebounds, one assist and two steals. For the second game in a row, junior forward Erin Dautremont scored a double-double. Dautremont contributed 12 points and 11 rebounds to go along with one assist and two steals.

Though up by 12 at the half, 38-26, the Golden Eagles went into the intermission with a 7-0 run. But after the lead was trimmed to as little as eight, the Tritons regained their first-half composure and went on an 8-0 run to double their lead, 48-32, to 16.

UCSD began the game playing both quality offense and defense, beginning the game with a 15-0 run while holding the Golden Eagles scoreless for more than 5:30.

Feder scored the contest's first basket with a layup while being fouled. The Santa Monica native successfully converted the three-point play to give the Tritons a 3-0 lead 1:09 into the game.

The Golden Eagles (4-1, 1-1) will play at Cal State San Bernardino (2-2, 1-0) on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
