IN THE CCAA
UCSD still sits in the top half of the conference after last weekend's series split with Sonoma State. Both the Tritons and Seawolves share a 5-3 CCAA record with CSUMB as we enter the third full week of conference play. Humboldt State still remains atop the standings list, holding a 4-0 record and a five game win streak.

SCOUTING CAL STATE MONTEREY BAY
The Otters enter the week with a 10-7 overall record, coming straight off a series split with Cal State East Bay in Hayward, Calif. The teams met up three times between now and last years regular season series, playing two games against each other in the CCAA Championship tournament, then again in the NCAA DII West Regionals at host Cal State Monterey Bay. UCSD had a tough time containing the Otters during regular season play, going 0-4, but came back with a vengeance earning two out of three and taking its first CCAA Tournament Championship.

CLIMBING THE CHARTS
Junior Caitlin Brown popped her 12th career homerun in game three with Western Oregon on Saturday, Feb. 4. The catcher currently sits at the number five spot on the programs record list. Brown is on track to make moves up the list as she currently sits behind 1986 graduate Pam Hardaway with 14. Jenny Maze (2005-08) owns the program record with 35 career home runs... Nicole Spangler is posting chart climbing numbers as she holds a .409 batting average with six double on the season. At this rate, Spangler will easily reach the programs Individual Single Season top ten list with no. 10 coming in at 13. The record holder, Kim Aggabao hit 23 in 2004... The Tritons have shown their speed on the bases this season as the team comes in at No. 2 in the CCAA with 30 total stolen bases...Emily McQuaid is the current team leader, going 7-for-10 in stolen base attempts.
