TURLOCK, Calif. - The 10th-ranked UC San Diego women's volleyball team got back in the win column Friday night with a commanding sweep over league opponent Cal State Stanislaus at Fitzpatrick Arena.

Scores of the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) match were 25-19, 25-16 and 25-21. Snapping a two-match losing slide, UCSD upped its overall record to 10-2 and is now 2-2 in conference matches. CSUS fell to 4-8 and 1-3.

Lizzy Andrews led the Tritons with 11.5 points on a team-high 10 kills, one ace and a block. She hit .333 and also added six digs. Danielle Dahle (La Mesa/Grossmont HS) had nine kills and nine digs, while Sara McCutchan finished with seven kills and four blocks.

Setter Heidi Sierks recorded her fourth consecutive double-double with 31 assists and 10 digs. Libero Brittany Lombardi had a match-best 24 digs. Freshman Makensie Bates made her debut for the Tritons, totaling four digs and a kill.

For the Warriors, Paige Walker led all players with 12 kills and completed a double-double with 13 digs.

Neither team hit well in the match, with UCSD swinging at .149 (34-17-114) and CSUS posting just a .075 (33-24-120) clip. The Tritons hit below .100 in sets one and three and sandwiched a solid .385 in between.

UCSD held a 5-0 advantage in service aces and out-blocked Stanislaus 7-4.

The Warriors got out to a 2-0 lead in the opening set, but the Tritons scored five of the next six points to take the lead for good. In fact, UC San Diego never trailed in set two or set three. The score was tied just three times all night.

"It's always nice to get a conference win on the road," said UCSD head coach Ricci Luyties. "Lizzy (Andrews) did a good job hitting and gave us some energy after a slow start. Also, we had the opportunity to play several people in the match that haven't seen much action yet this season."

UCSD has won the last six match-ups against Cal State Stanislaus and is now 30-3 all-time against the Warriors.

Now through four matches of a seven-contest road swing, UCSD plays at Chico State (6-5, 3-1 CCAA) Saturday at 7 p.m. The Wildcats lost in four sets to No. 20 Cal State San Bernardino at home Friday.
