CARSON, Calif. - The 10th-ranked UC San Diego women's volleyball team won its seventh consecutive match Friday night, defeating conference opponent Cal State Dominguez Hills in four sets at The Torodome in Los Angeles County.

Scores were 25-15, 25-21, 21-25 and 26-24 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) match.

UCSD junior transfer Caitlin Brenton had a strong, balanced night, finishing with 14 kills, six digs, seven blocks (two solos) and a match-high 18.5 points. The opposite hitter's kill and point totals were both season-bests. Brenton also posted a .407 hitting percentage, committing just three errors in 27 attacks.

Outside hitter Danielle Dahle (La Mesa/Grossmont HS) totaled 16.5 points with a match-high 15 kills, an ace, a block and five digs. Outside Sophie Rowe and setter Heidi Sierks each recorded double-doubles. Rowe had 10 kills and 11 digs while Sierks put 52 assists and 12 digs on the stat sheet. She hit .500 with four kills and one error in six attacks.

Brittany Lombardi had a match-high 20 digs for the Tritons.

For Cal State Dominguez Hills, Elizabeth Krieger and Whitney Lee each amassed 17.0 points. Krieger had 13 kills and 12 digs, both team-highs. Lee compiled 12 kills, two aces, five digs and five blocks. She hit .455 (12-2-22).

The Toros had 10 service aces in the match, four of those coming from Krieger. It was the most aces against UCSD this season.

The Tritons were dominant on the attack, out-hitting their opponent .268 to .165 and holding a sizable 60 to 46 advantage in kills.

UCSD improved to 16-2 overall and 8-2 in the CCAA, while CSUDH fell to 8-10 and 1-10. The win was the 45th for UCSD in the all-time series. The Toros have won just twice, the first time in 1992 and then not again until last season.

UCSD returns to RIMAC Arena to host Cal State L.A. (11-7, 6-4 CCAA) Saturday night at 7 p.m. The Golden Eagles suffered a 3-0 loss at home against No. 14 Cal State San Bernardino Friday night.
