2001 – Muir – Human Development

After starting 28 games at Center Field for Coach Patti Gerckens as a senior in 2001, Kim (Vorsatz) Carey graduated with a degree in Human Development. She earned a law degree from Golden Gate University in San Francisco in 2004, passed the State Bar of California in 2005 and is now a third generation Estate Planning Attorney. She is in the fourth year of working with her father, Karl, an estate planning, trust administration and probate law specialist, in Burlingame, CA at a practice started by her grandfather, Frank Vorsatz.

Carey was married to Kevin Carey, a San Mateo high school teacher, in December of 2006. In her free time, she has coached more than eight youth softball and soccer teams and maintains contacts with a variety of UCSD classmates.
