Since retiring from international water polo, she’s spent time in the coaching ranks (she was head women’s water polo coach at both Rio Hondo JC and UC Irvine) but is now focused on another Olympics in a second sport—triathlon.
After winning both the Age Group National Championships and Amateur World Championships and being named the top amateur female triathlete in the U.S. in 2002, she turned pro and began working towards qualifying for the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece.
She’s well on her way, having finished eighth at the August Pan Am Games and earning enough points to qualify for the Olympic Trials. Her short term priority is the U.S. Pro Nationals, Nov. 1, in
