Swimming

1997 – Muir – BioEngineering

 

A mainstay on the UCSD Swimming & Diving team from 1993-96, his contributions led to a perpetual team award being named after him. The Hartsock Award in given annually to the Triton senior swimmer who best exemplifies the work ethic and attitude displayed by its namesake.

 

Also a member of the Triton Athletes’ Council and Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity, Hartsock got his BioEngineering degree in 1997 and matriculated to Indiana University School of Medicine where he graduated in 2001.

 

Married (Jane) and working at Family Medicine and Sports Medicine in Chicago, Hartsock has been team physician for the Chicago Shamrox (Pro Indoor Lacrosse), Chicago Rush (Arena Football), Illinois Institute of Technology and Chicago State. He also serves as a team physician for the USA Swimming national teams.

 

Hartsock has been a participant in U.S. Masters Swimming since his graduation and won several national titles. He recently participated in the FINA Masters World Championships in Palo Alto.
