UCSD will then take on Occidental at 2:00 p.m. Whittier and Oxy will play in the final game, set for 6:00 p.m. at Slade Aquatics Center.

SCOUTING WHITTIER: The Poets enter this weekend with a 2-5 overall record, most recently coming off four games at the Inland Empire Tournament. Whittier lost all it's matches, dropping the final game to UC Santa Barbara 26-9. The Poets' six-game home stand begins against the Tritons and extends for another two weeks.

SCOUTING OCCIDENTAL: Oxy played four top-ranked Division I teams over the course of two days. The Tigers lost all of their contests at the Inland Empire Classic Sept. 8-9, falling to No. 6 UC Irvine, 18-3; No. 17 Concordia University, 19-5; No. 10 Long Beach State, 22-7; and No. 12 UC Davis 17-3. Occidental holds a 2-4 overall record heading into this weekend.

ABOUT LAST WEEK: UC San Diego's Cameron Ravanbach tallied 44 saves on the weekend, including a 15-save performance against Air Force in the double overtime win. The Tritons finished the NorCal Invite at 2-2, earning 11th place overall. All four of the Tritons' opponents were ranked in the top-20, with wins coming against WWPA foes UC Davis (No. 12) and Air Force (No. 16). Josh Stiling finished with a team-high 11 goals on the weekend, followed by David Higginson, who added seven of his own. The Tritons spread the wealth with 11 different players scoring one or more goals.

FIRST HONOR: Josh Stiling is the first member of the men's team to receive honors in the 2012 season as he was named the UCSDtritons.com Athlete of the Week for Sept. 17-23. The junior driver recorded a hat trick against top WWPA opponents Air Force, LMU and UC Davis. The Beaverton, Ore., native brought his season goal total to 15, a team high, after just two weeks of action. Stiling is on pace to establish a new personal single season best, currently set at 36 goals scored during the Tritons' 2011 campaign.
