LA JOLLA, Calif. - Two UC San Diego teams wrapped up play at the 125th Pacific Coast Doubles Championships Sunday at the La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club.

Ganesh Alagappan and Maxence Dutreix won a hard-fought round of 64 match against independent players Brett Buffington and Steven Forman, 9-8 and 7-6. In the round of 32, the Triton duo faced Gary Kushnirovich and Gustavo Loza of St. John's and lost by a score of 8-6.

Alagappan and Dutreix advanced to play on Sunday after their first round opponents withdrew on Saturday.

In Sunday's round of 64, Alexandre Miaule and Horea Porutiu played Aidan McNulty of Boston College and indepenent entrant Philip Nelson and lost by a score of 8-4.

Miaule and Porutiu won their round of 128 match on Saturday to advance. They defeated independent competitors Alexander Johnson and Donald Johnson, 8-5.

Due to the inclement weather that plagued the tournament, the matches were played as eight-game pro-sets with no ad scoring. The rain also forced the cancellation of any consolation matches.

Complete draws and results from the Pacific Coast Doubles Championships can be found here.

UCSD plays five straight home matches next, starting with Barry on Friday, March 7, at 10 a.m. The Tritons (8-4) are ranked 12th nationally, while the Buccaneers (9-0) are the top-ranked team in the country.
