Tritons Go 4-0 at The Bronco

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The No. 19 UC San Diego women's water polo team finished off a 4-0 weekend by taking down Cal State San Bernardino, 26-5, and CSU Bakersfield, 12-7, in Western Water Polo Association play on Sunday afternoon at Sullivan Aquatic Center.

11 different players scored as UCSD set a new season high for goals in the opening game before the Tritons outscored CSUB 5-0 in the fourth quarter to put away the Roadrunners.

UCSD improves to 19-12 overall and 8-2 in WWPA play. The Tritons four wins at The Bronco virtually clinch the No. 2-seed for the conference tournament, April 27-29 at Canyonview Aquatic Center.

Colette Gulick scored a game-high four times while Brittany Daniels, Hannah Guthman, Sarah Lizotte and Jolene Guiliana added hat tricks against CSUSB. Katherine Biehle, Emily McPhee and Kirsten Bates each scored twice. Melissa Bartow, Jessica Tran, Natalie Peng and Kolby Pronenko each tallied a goal.

Bartow and Biehle registered hat tricks against CSUB in the afternoon affair. Tied 3-3 after the first, 6-6 after the second, and 7-7 after the third, the Tritons held the Roadrunners scoreless in the fourth quarter.

Allie Taylor made seven saves on Sunday, while Tala Majaj tallied a pair of stops.
